I posted this also on the bridal forum, but I am really needing some help. I am trying to find a pattern for an 'icicle' pattern for my daughters wedding dress for the bodice. I have searched the internet for hours and checked all the beading stores and no one has any patterns for beading on dresses. I have tried to look at pictures of dresses but can't see the detail to plot my own. Does anyone have any suggestions at all?? The only thing I can think of is to go to the bridal shop and take a photo of the dress my daughter likes, but how do you discreetly do that, with no digital camera??

I posted a reply to you under bridal clothing, but I wanted to add something about designs. If you can't photograph the design you like, look at it really closely, noting details, and try to sketch it after leaving the shop. After a preliminary sketch, go back and look again if you need to, to see if you missed anything. Check wedding dresses in bridal magazines, too, for ideas. I am not familiar with the icicle design you are wanting, but it may be pictured in some magazine or pattern book in a fabric store. MariLynnTX

That's a very good idea of the bridal magazines.

Hey MariLynn, finally made it back. :bluesmile

I actually found the designer's dress that I am copying on Ebay of all things and they had the most awesome closeup photos of different parts of the dress. I found that with many of the dresses that companies had for sale, there were really good pictures, so I saved a number of them on my computer then printed them off to make the pattern. Who would have guessed??

That is just great! Now you can really see the design up close. MariLynn
