Here is a question someone sent me, post your answers here. Thanks.

I have a pattern for a tank top that is designed to use knits. I would like to use cotton instead for it is easier to come by. What allowances should I make when cutting this out on cotton.

My approaches would be, in order:

1. Get a 99cent pattern on sale for a woven tank top, they are plentiful.

2. Using the pattern you have add ease of 1-2" depending on size gradations in your size range. Make a test run with cheap cloth or pattern paper/soil separator paper eliminating facings and finish. Just baste the pieces together. Continue to add ease in the same increment as needed. If it is a multisize pattern simply use the next size up.

3. If fit feels good but it's hard to pull on add a zipper or other neckline opening in back.
