I am getting ready to start Butterick 3403, a maternity dress for my daughter. This pattern has no finished garment measurements for the bust or anything else for that matter printed on the tissue or envelope. I am going to make a size 18 for her but with her 42DD bust, I am having a tough time knowing what to do with no finished measurements. Suggestions would be appreciated. I haven't been able to buy Real fit for real people yet and I am not real good into doing alterations except changing size lines yet. So if someone can just walk me through this I would appreciate it. Thank-you

Jolene ususally on the front piece of the pattern, you will see the finished measurements for each size on the pattern. I am a 42DD and I usually can cut a size 18 for the bust. Before you cut, measure the front and then the back between the cutting lines between the darts on the front and across where the shoulders would be on the back, see what the measurement is and then add 5/8" on each side of both the back and front; then add these two numbers and you should have the finished size for the top.

Actually I just got a Butterick pattern and it doesn't have the finished sizes on it either...front OR back....(just regular, not maternity)

I'll have to be sure and check closely on my next new Butterick pattern. Of course, I haven't bought any new patterns for several months now.

Found the finished sizes for the Butterick patterns...( I actually opened the pattern today) They're inside. You have to unfold the instructions to find'em.

I just looked at my pattern again and on the instructions on the inside are the same measurements that I have on the flap on the outside but these are not the finished measurements. I went to Hancocks yesterday and I asked them about it. I found a chart in the back of a Butterick book and asked her if they had another one because of the situation I was in. She said no but to wait and she would go to the backroom. She came back and told me that was a preview catalog and the new catalogs were in the back and I could tear that one out of the book, so now I have it. Thanks everyone,
