Does anyone know where I might find a pattern for the little dispensers that hold your plastic bags, (walmart bags and such). I went to a craft show last spring and they had some there that looked like little old ladies with specticals on with the usual big noses and gray hair and they were dressed in old ladies dresses and they had a plaque across the front of them that read "Old Bags" That's what they looked like an old lady. They were so cute I took picture of them. I should have spent the 20.00 and bought one. They would make cute gifts for the holidays. I would appreicate it if anyone knows where I can find a pattern for one.

Thanks susie

Hi Susie. I saw a pattern for these in one of the major pattern books today. Possibly McCalls, but I also looked at Simplicity and Butterick.

I have one, and I love it. Very useful!

Hi Raine, Yes I have a plain one but I was looking for a pattern for one that looks like an old lady. It's cute. I have a pic of one but don't know how to insert it into the post. Can anyone help me? I can send you the pic if you can post it.

Yes, I want to know how to post a picture too. I have a picture of my mystery quilt but I can't seem to get it to post??
Violet
p.s. Yes, I like those bags too and mine is a plain one. One with an old lady on it would be so cute.
I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.

The key to posting pictures on this board is that it must be on a website somewhere else. I have my own personal site that I put my pictures on.
If you have your picture on a website then you right click it, click on properties, highlight the Address/URL and copy it. Then come back here and start a reply or new post. Above the area where you type in your post is the abreviation IMG. Click on that and another box will pop up. Then you paste what you copied into that box and click ok.
I tried to explain this as simply as I could. I hope you all understand. Any questions, feel free to ask!

These are Susie's old bags. They are quite cute. Not exactly the same as the pattern I found.

Hi everyone new here. I found y'all by accident

anyway...I made one of those bag thingy's (several for christmas presents) one year I used my old country bunny pattern and left the leggs off. Added a round circle (used a dinner plate as a pattern) to close the bottom of the dress and the dress holds the bags. I did a small hole in the bottom to get them out and left the back of the dress open enough to get them in. I added a loop to the back for hanging on a door knob. And I did the dress color to match everyones kitchen

Thanks Bsisemore,

That sounds great. I'll have to try that pattern.

Pudge99,

I'm still not seeing the pic on my computer. Is anyone else having problems seeing the pic? Maybe it's the way I've got my computer set up.

I can see it on your site now, Gina. I wonder why we can't see it on the boards. Maybe it's too big to fit on the boards. I see the other one you posted for the bags. That picture came out fine.

I see it just fine on the board. Might have something to do with your internet speed. I used to have a hard time veiwing things before we switched from dial-up to DSL. Mind you I am no computer expert, this is just a thought.

hi Mary,

I'm doing some summer clothes for my daughter. She's 4 years old now (I have an 18 year old to go with her) But the baby is the one getting clothes right now.
I have just completed two swimsuit cover ups and 4 tops (to go with shorts she already had) I am making them from some of those pre designed pieces that you use to make a dress with. The local wal mart here was out of the skirt material and clearenced the top pieces for 1.00 a yard I got 3 tops for a dollar, so I can do some this summer and some next summer.

I could see the pictures on the discussion. I don't know why, but I was having problems being able to even see the posts! Mary couldn't figure out why, either. I had my computer backed up and serviced and now came back and don't see red x's anymore. I think it was something I had set wrong on my computer. I also have high speed internet services-in fact, it's called: mediacom high speed internet and it is very fast, too-love it. They were really, really cute!

Magot,

Did you give it a minute to load? The top of my webpage is an ad. That is the first thing you see then you have to scroll down to see the pictures. Susie's picture is at the very bottom of my page.

Hey Gabby,

How's Shreveport? Welcome to the boards. You're going to love it here. If you don't mind me asking, what was your maiden name? I was a Dauterive. It's is small world. LOL You have to miss the food for sure. I moved to Dallas when I first got married and had withdrawels for French Bread and fresh seafood. Needless to say my Mom made loads of food runs the short time I lived there. If you need any help on the boards just let me know.

My maiden name was DeVun.
My mom had the Kim kinder. and Day nursery for 30 yrs.

To the board:

Charlotte,

I never go to Rocky's anymore since they had that lady die of food poisoning. They always seemed nasty to me even before that happened. I know everywhere has their stories but I just didn't think it was clean to me, and they proved me right. LOL I like to go to Tony's before I started this diet. Have you been to Par 3 Diner or the Parish Diner? They have pretty good food at Par 3 but the service is slow. The Parish Diner is a lot better. It's on Paris Rd and Genie. Anyway glad you joined us.

I don't remember that nursery. I've lived here all my life. Graduated from AJ in 1969. Where was the nursery located? Maybe that'll help. You know Chalmette everybody knows somebody you know or their realated some kind of way.

Right on the button about Rocky's. What I should say is I do love their macaroni and cheese. My place to eat is Par 3. We go there a few times a week when I am in. Since I am a night person you can catch my sister and I in Par 3 for midnight "breakfast!" LOL
Take care,

I'm a night person also but I don't go anywhere anymore in Chalmette after dark without a man. It's getting kind of rough lately. I don't go to Wally World after dark either. Par 3 has the best onion rings. I'll have to see how many points that is on weight watchers LOL Just kidding it's probably 25 points for 3. LOL
