Hey Mary my DGD was an angel for Halloween last year and I had gotten a an angel costume that had a template. I enlarged it and used gold posterboard, doubled. They came out really cute. Hope that helped some.

Mary, Poster board doubled sounds like a good idea but you can also take a finer gauge wire, shape the size wings you want & glue or sew on tulle to the wire. Careful with the wire where you sew it onto the costume as you don't want pokies to stick the child. These are done for school plays. |

When I made them for a tooth fairy costume I sewed the wings out of chiffon into the shape I wanted. Then I inserted wire & shaped it to the shape of the wings. Then I tacked it every 4" or so. They are still together today & I made themabout 19 yrs. ago. Barb Barb

How about wire hangers shaped with white pantyhose streched over them. You can even spray thim with glitter or something to make them real sparkly.

When our church group needed wings for a play, we used clothes hanger wire and needle nose pliers to shape them. We then made a pattern for them out of table paper and added seam allowances. I sewed the wings out of some sheer glittery fabic and the moms tacked them over the wire shapes. We have now used the same set of wings for 5 years and all look great. Hope this helps. Marty
