A life long male friend's wife after many years of trying they finally have a baby and its a boy.... The little guy has heart problems. The doctors are optomistic and surgery will correct the problem Question Do I make a gift and send it now or wait till after surgery and what should I put on it. I usally palce an angel on a baby gift but considering they might not like it. any suggestions The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

Aimee, I would send it now and let them see your optimism that everything is going to be just fine.

I agree with Mary, send it now. I also think an angel is very appropriate on the gift. All babies are angels.

I gotta disagree with both. I think I'd wait to see how things turn out. Unfortunately it could be one more heartache. And if it's a little late people understand -- especially if its hand made. As for the angel, why do you question that? If it's because they aren't religious or just aren't Christian maybe you can find something more appropriate. Christians just don't realize how offensive they can be expecting everyone else to feel the same about their symbolism. Dorothy |

I vote for giving the gift now. Even if the baby doesn't make it, the parents will appreciate the gift and that fact that YOU gave it to them. If you put angels on things and they know it, put an angel on. Put stars on it....animals....boats...trains....planes...cars.. .. I'm sure whatever you do they will love.... Chrys
