My son is graduating this yr. and asked if I could make him a vest with ties. Not a vest made with ties, but the shape of a tie on his vest. Any suggestion on how I can do this?

Have him draw you a picture. I'm not quite sure that I understand what it would look like. There are several good men's vest patterns out there if you have a picture, maybe you can find something that looks a bit like it. There are lots of vest patterns though that tie in the back. Many men's vest patterns have ties of different types included in the envelope It is possible if he truly wants an actual tie included on the vest, you might be able to applique or top stitch the tie onto the vest. There is nothing easier though than a vest pattern. He could have requested something really terrible. You need to give him a hug!

Pam,
I told my son about a lady on the internet who said to give him a hug. What for he asked. I tried to explain it to him and he still looks kind of confused. A teen trying to fiqure out whats the difference what I make for him. Liked the idea of a hug though. I think he's still smiling. Nice lady he says. :bluesmile
