Hi everybody. We got home late last night. Now I am busy catching up on these boards, laundry and getting groceries. We had a ball, but are very happy to be home. I think this will be our last trip until the fall.

We went on a tour of the Canadian Mint where they make money!!! My grandson held a gold bar worth over $200,000.00 and it was heavy. Over 24 lbs. He went thru the factory where they showed how collector coins are made. Very neat stuff. We also went thru the Canadian Gallery of Art. What a huge place. Hubby and grandson were totally bored but I love to see all that stuff. I saw all that the Group of 7 painted plus a lot of aboriginal paintings and beading. I was thrilled with it all.

We were next door to the Parliament buildings. They look like big spooky castles when the sun is going down. Hubby and Jordan loved the aircraft museum and I was bored. LOL.

Went swimming everyday, ate too much and totally spoiled ourselves. Now it is back to the grind and we are happy to be doing so. :bluesmile

Welcome back Mary!

That would be my son's dream vacation to get to go on a tour of the Canadian Mint. He collects coins. Do they give tours everyday? What do they charge for a tour?

Chrysantha, go stick your head in an air conditioner. We have piles of snow and freezing temps.

The tours are every half hour or so during the week. I think we paid around $7-$8 per person. The gift shop is full of coin sets, etc. He would love it. You get to see them strike a design and explain why everything is done.

Now Now Mary don't be so sore about our hot weather. That's how we feel when you tell us about all your wonderful travels and we're stuck home doing our boring chores. :nah: :nah: I'd be glad to give you some of our heat for just one week of your New York - Washington - Florida vacation. Nahhhh I get home sick after the first week of being gone. I guess the grass is always greener somewhere else. I'll stay put. :bg:

We will be going to the Jazz Festival in Montreal, of course. At least that is the plan. We were there a couple years ago and had so much fun. I fell in love with the city. We didn't make it underground so I definitely want to see that. And the music is wonderful -- even if your budget is tight.

I'm going to Canada this summer also! I've never been, so I'm quite excited about it. It will be mid-July in Calgary for a glorious week of no one telling me NO! LOL!

I lived in Calgary 15 year's ago...very spread out... the stampede is something to see...I'm sure you will enjoy it...My daughter Stacie is going this summer also to visit her Aunt and cousin's...they love it there... If you get a chance go to Lake Louise for the day ...Now that is beautiful...I never went to BC... kick myself for not doing that . Hope you have a great time.

Welcome back Mary ... Glad you had a good time...I'm a little slow getting around to these thing's. I loved seeing the Parliament buildings... I have to agree with you Mary... they do look like big spooky castles when the sun is going down. My DB took my DH and me to the aircraft museum and it's not my cup of tea either...had to almost drag DH out of there LOL.
