I just found out I lost an old friend Thursday. She was only 56, she fought breast cancer for around 8 years now. She had one breast removed at a time then the radical surgery began with the lymp glands and finally she lost her battle. She worked in our ICU unit at the hospital here in Chalmette she was the person who hooked up the heart monitors on people who had to be watched. She was my neighbor for 25 years and they moved to a new house a few years ago but not far from me. I will miss her. Her grandchild is my Godchild and she loved her babies. I will miss her.

So sorry about your friend...way too young to die. I feel for her kids and gr kids because I lost my mom when she was only 56 to breast/bone cancer and it was and still is so hard.
At least she isn't in pain anymore. I still have to remind myself of that for my mom when I feel overwhelmed by her loss.

Thanks everyone. I have come to the conclusion when dealing with death that we the ones left behind are the who are suffering most. She is not suffering anymore and I'm sure she is looking down on her family and is now able to see and enjoy them free of pain.

Yes it has Jan. I hope that's the end of it for awhile. We finally placed our property up for sale with a realtor. I really hope it sells fast so I can close this door in my life and open another. I feel kind of meloncoly over selling the property. I was born here and lived her almost all my life. I've only lived away from here for around 5 years total and I'm 52. My Dad was born here also so it's been in the family for a long time. He would be 86 today. So it's a bad and good time for me, kind of mixed emotions.

My friend was 58 not 56. I first posted she was 56, she was 56 when she moved from here.
