Hello to all you women that can do anything with a sewing machine except watch the dust collect on it.
I admire you each and everyone.
But, I am still pushing right along and hope to get at least ok with it someday.
I had instructions once to make a tablecloth that has elastic
around the edges so it wouldn't come off.
We have bought a new camper and I want to make one for the table so it won't come off all the time.
If anyone can help me it would sure be appreciated.
Thank you ladies,

I made my sister one for a round table a few years ago. I just cut the fabric out a few inches bigger than the table so it would fit underneath without pulling off. I used 1/4 " elastic. I put the tablecloth on the table before I cut the elastic so I would know how tight to make it. Hope this helps.

I made one ( first time ) a week ago for the round table on my lanai. I made mine out of vinyl. I maybe went to a little more trouble than need be but here's what I did. I put the vinyl on the table upside down, marked along the table edge, measure the depth of the side or apron of the table & how much I needed for it to flip under with an elastic caseing to fit. It fit perfect. If you use vinyl use a teflon foot or a roller foot so it will glide easy on the machine. Theresa

Or, if you have a Harriet Carter Catalog, you can order one for less than 6 dollars, I think.. Look in their online catalog... My brother orders them all the time.. they are flannel backed oilcloth or vinyl and are very nice.. I think the money is worth it when you consider how much time it will take you to make one.. My humble opinion, of course..:bg: :bg:

Libby, That's good to know. I found the flannel backed vinyl on sale cheap & pattern I liked so total cost was no more than $ 3.00 at most. At least now I know I can make one to fit & it took me maybe an hour to make , if that. I think an oil cloth one would be nice too. Theresa
