Hello everyone!
New Here - I am enjoying reading everyone's tips.
I bought some Panne Velvet to make a bean bag type chair for my friends daughter. The bolt said it was machine washable and tumble dry. It is shedding like crazy. Any idea if I should keep washing and drying it until it stops? How many cycles should I throw it through?

I would do it twice, then quit. It sounds suspicious to me, maybe the fabric is really old. Just a hunch I have.

Panne velvet needs to have the seams serged to keep them from unraveling. It would not be my choice of fabric for a bean bag chair because it is a delicate fabric that requires special handling. I don't think it would hold up well for the amount of wear that a bean bag chair would get. However, good luck.
Happy Stitching! Marty
