I am putting in my first zipper. The instructions read "Press under 5/8 " on Left back opening edge and 1/2 " on Right back opening edge. Pin Right back edge to zipper tape,.....".

Here is my question, when I am pressing my edges under is this as I am looking at the back with right side out or wrong side out? When I figure that out then I will know where to put the zipper tape. I think I have them pressed wrong now and don't want to proceed until I know.
Thanks,
Jolene

You should be pressing the seam allowances to the inside.

Good luck!

you should be pressing your seam allowances to finish on the inside of your garment, so you would be pressing them looking at the wrong side (or inside of your garment). Generally the pattern instructions show different shaded pictures denoting the right and wrong sides of the fabric, or are you winging it?

I finished the dress and the zipper went in good. I did have instructions but they were written poorly and the pictures were terrible.
Thanks for the help.
