Gee I think I'm the only women out here who doesn't have the shoe and purse bug. I have two pairs of running shoes, one black and one white, 2 pr of flats for church, black and beige, (can't wear heels, knee and hip problems), two pair of sandals, one for bumming around in and one for good and an old pair of flats for around the garden. I have two purses, one black for winter and one beige for summer. Although I love nice clothes our lifestyle doesn't have much room for them and I actually feel more comfortable in blue jeans and sweaters/sweatshirts. One of my dtrs told me I dress more like a college student then they did when they were in college. Oh well, I'm just the casual type I guess. Shoes and purses just do a thing for me.....but get me into an art/craft/fabric store ...there I could spend money!

I'm one of those no purse/shoe persons too....
I have the same purse I've had for 5 yrs now...it was pricey when I bought it and I don't care who sees it, how many times it's seen...it works...
I have 2 pair walking shoes....2 pair running shoes..and 5 pairs of zori's (thongs)...( I do own one pair of heels, but they haven't seen the light of day since 94)...I prefer to go barefoot when I can....besides I live in FL...who wants to wear shoes here !?!?!?!
(if you stay away from the fire ants, no shoes are needed)

Hi My name is Aimee and I am hoplessly addicted to shoes and purses.

Shot

I have more then humanly possible for shoes. I get exited when they are on sale. This weekend on the clearance rack it said buy one get the second half off and then it also said buy two get the third free. I argued that I purchased on I should get the secon half off and the third free. The manager agreed. Felt good. Got a great pair of sling back suede leather short boots. Regular 109.99 on sale last pair 9.99 and in my size. Ohhhh another rush.

Mostly they are boots of some sort. I wear tennies most of the time. The boys call them my growed up shoes.

I buy cute purses and I make them but I get tired of them and always go back to the day planner book.

I have purses that are in the shape of presents (little boxes with the handle being the bow), back pack purses, small purses, big purses, purses with fringe, purses of leather and denim, Too many to count.

It is an addiction...
The more you disaprove, the more fun I am having!

Last time I bought a pair of shoes was 4 years ago. I have 2 pair of work shoes(running shoes), a pair of walking shoes that go with jeans, slacks, a pair of grunge shoes for gardening, and a pair of dress flats. I prefer no shoes whenever possible. No purses! DD thinks I'm hopeless.

I have 3 pairs of shoes, one pair of boots and will buy some sandals for the summer -- one or two pairs.
I probably have 20 or more purses. I made several of them. I am an addict -- Purses, scent, fabric and cross stitch and needlepoint supplies and books.

Aimee - you are going to hate me for this, but I hate buying shoes! I won't go near a shoe shop until I'm desperate.

Ah. the allure of new shoes. When I was in college, I worked at the mall. I watched all the sales at all the shoe stores. I had more shoes that would fit in both closets at my tiny apartment. Those were the days!
Now I don't buy purses. My mother buys them for me. She bought me one of those beaded one with a 67 chevy and a 50s pinup girl on it. People stopped me in the post office asking about it. then, she got me one with Marilyn Monroe on it. I was stunned at how many men went gaga over that purse. I finally quit carrying it.
For christmas, she got me a purse with my initial on it. Then, last week, she came by with two more purses for me. Now, if I could just get her to do the same with shoes...
I cleaned out my closet yesterday and got rid of 9 pairs of shoes. I still have three more pairs than will fit on my shelves (I bought all three pairs at a terrific sale Saturday!) I'm not going to get rid of any more shoes. Hubby will just have to build more shelves....

I've calmed down on buy shoes. I use to get a new pair for every new outfit I would buy. That's when I was young and crazy and didn't have to pay the rent.

I still love shoes and purses and will not pass a good sale but they have to be of good quality. None of the plastic stuff; my feet don't like them and I don't like the smell ...

When I was in Mervyn's the other day, I saw the cutest purse!
It was the shape of a bustier-complete with the lace up corseted front. The bra straps were the handles, all made out of pint and black leather. Nicely made, very cute. Alas, when I went back, they had sold all of them.

I didn't think I cared much about shoes until I went to write-up what I had in my wardrobe. I had more than I thought, a lot more. lol

During high school, I never had my own money to buy shoes and so wore saddle shoes. They were tough, virtually indestructible. My brother tried to help me wear them out in hopes of buying different shoes. We scraped our feet along the pavement as we rode our bikes and he even tried a scientific experiment involving a magnifying glass reflecting the sun to the shoes. It did turn the leather a bit brown in one area but it took too long and we were bested by a solid leather piece of work. The only way to get new shoes was to grow. But unfortunately, through 9 children, my dear old mum learned that buying shoes one size larger than the child wore made them last longer. How can you fight "mother logic"?

Once I could afford my own shoes, my feet were size 9 1/2. Do you realize there was only one size 9.5 in a shipment of say, 100 size 6. So unfair. Now that I've acquired a nice collection of size 10s, we arches have falled to a perfect size 11. I guess I should be glad they aren't size 11.5. Then I'd probably never find nice girlie shoes. Not orthopedic, black something-or-ruthers.

I guess one could be irritated, or philosphical about the trick the body sometimes plays on you. Or, just be pleased about other things that are still bearable. Hey, It's Mother's Day-I'm entitled.

Hey web2cats, I saw the same purse--the one that looks like a pink and black bustier--at Victoria's Secret! Try it there. I would love to carry one but our dress code at work is very strict. But they haven't said anything about purses yet and I don't want to cause a ruckus!
