Spring has sprung The grass has riz Wonder where the birdies is??? Not really spring here yet, but hubby has tons of seeds planted for our flower gardens this summer. He has quite the green thumb since his semi-retirement. So far there are geraniums, petunias, carnations, hollyhocks, violets, alyssum, poppies, pansies and verbena coming up. There are lots of other stuff too, but he has it labelled with weird names. This is just the stuff he has in the basement planted, he has more to go in the greenhouse later on when it warms up. Not only that, he has started a worm farm for composting as well. I have to "feed" them twice a week. He has a meeting with a "worm" expert to refine his methods and trade tips. Oh well, it keeps him off the streets at night. MaryW

The tulips are poking thru and crocuses are just about ready to bloom. Havn't started any flowers for a few yrs. but am throwing some seed I saved from last yr into my flower bed. Every morning I go and see what's coming alive. |

Dorothy, don't be a wimp. I should post a picture of our front yard. We have a drift of snow about 3' high still standing. Everyone on this street does. The kids climb them all going to school in the morning.

I've had crocus and snow drops blooming for about 3 weeks now. Daffodils are in bud and ready to burst ....if it ever stops raining and the sun shines. It has been raining here of and on, mostly on, for days now and will continue for days yet. I have 37 rose bushes, lots of iris and lillies and other perennials and I plant scads of annuals. Even hubby is getting eager to get to the greenhouses and he is not a gardner by nature...but he loves what I create. Can't wait for the warm weather to come. Violet I've decided to live forever - so far, so good.
