While in Ottawa I found the Richard Robinson Academy of Fashion Design. It is on Sussex Drive in downtown Ottawa. Here they teach sewing but take it to a higher standard apparently. The courses cover an introduction to sewing, professional sewing, pattern making, computerized pattern making, draping on a mannequin, fashion sketching, textile study, costume history, making of lingerie, men's tailoring, hat making, marketing, fashion design and couture. I was so excited to find out there was such an organization in Canada. I sent away for the flyer hoping for an online or correspondence by mail course but no. You must attend in person. Too far for me, but for any of you in Ontario this is a real chance to learn from the ground up from professionals. www.RichardRobinson.com MaryW

Too far for me too Mary. It's too bad that every community doesn't offer a sewing school or fashion academy. Oh well ... Happy Stitching! Marty It takes one moment to change a life.

I'm to far away also ... that would be so cool to have one close by.
