I'm making a pair of Pocket Rod Curtain's for a friend of mine... I don't know how deep to make the pocket ... how many inches would I need to turn down ... there the older curtain rod's...I don't have a lot of Material here so what would I get away with for a Hem width??? Thank's in advance...:bluesmile

Bren,

If you don't have enough fabric, perhaps you could add a strip of another fabric to the edge to be folded to the back to make the hem...that is, if the back won't be visible.
Take care,

You really need to know the diameter of the rod to answer that. I don't know where a formula is available but you can always fold the top over something the same size and figure it out that way.

I just finishes 2 pairs of rod pocket curtains. You need to know how wide your curtain rod is, but don't make the mistake I made. I measured the rod, got my curtains all finished and the rods wouldn't fit in the pocket. It was to tight. Make sure you add extra to the pockets because a rod isn't flat it's rounded. It sure wasn't fun pulling out all that stitching.

Also, I put a 2 inch hem on my curtains. My windows are 72 inches long and a 1 inch might have looked funny. I think you can get away with a smaller hem if you have smaller windows.
