I was told this evening while I was in my local Hancock Fabrics and made the statement "Thank goodness the manager finally took all of that furniture out of the miiddle of the floor" I was told that all of the furniture is being removed from the Hancock Stores and they are going to get an upgrade on their volume and quality of quilting fabrics. Women power has prevailed once again in the market place apparently!!! Patsy Patsy

A friend of mine said the local store is selling their stock of beads, also. I haven't stopped by yet to see what else is on sale. At our store here, it is impossible to get on their mailing list. I think they just throw away all of those sign-up sheets. I go to Joann Fabrics and the quilt shops instead. Hopefully, things will improve. Raine |

Raine Hancock's is having a 50% off sale on all their notions on April 24th in case you're interested. It's what they're calling their annual truck load sale. Patsy Patsy

It would be nicer if they were adding more garment fabric. It seems that all the stores carry now is quilting or home decor stuff. Finding garment fabric is getting harder and harder in the local stores. Marty It takes one moment to change a life.

Marty, I totally agree. Our local chain store Fabricville, has the most awesome home dec. fabrics and loads of quilting. Garment fabric is another matter. Good garment fabric is even rarer. If it weren't for a local mail order fabric company, I wouldn't have any sources.

Mary, I'm surprised to hear that about Fabricville. All the ones I've been to in my area are really nice. Quite a good selection of garment fabric and it seems like they're always on sale. Bouclair on the other hand is another story. Good luck finding a clean one. They have stuff all over the place and most of the staff have no clue what they're doing. Very disappointing. |

Dede, I found a Bouclair in downtown Montreal. It was exactly as you described. I was so disappointed but they had quite an array of crafty stuff, silk flowers, boxes, etc.

Maybe Bouclair is owned by the Joann company!!! Marty: The saleslady at Hancock's told me that is one of the things they are going to be doing again is a better line of garment fabrics. They have some nice fabrics if you want to take the time to dig through all the other cheap, sleazy crap they've managed to come up with, or maybe that's just in my local store. Patsy Patsy
