Hi, I'm interested in making this dress for my Junior Banquet. http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v93/dreaminsun/00-00-19-018.bmp http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v93/dreaminsun/00-00-20-008.bmp http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v93/dreaminsun/00-00-20-029.bmp http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v93/dreaminsun/00-00-22-012.bmp http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/v93/dreaminsun/00-01-32-018.bmp It's a simple dress but I would wish to try my best in making the dress quality-wise. Would you be nice enough to give information on what type of garments to use for this dress? (Not sheer, comfortable, flows nicely with body) and how much of the garment would you think I need. Suggestions of other materials needed to make this dress would be appreciated. I have a hard time with the sewing machine so reccomending what type of sewing to use would be nice. Thank you so very much |

My first question to you is do you have a pattern for this style? If not, check out the different pattern companies and find one. The pattern will have the recommended types of fabric, what sewing notions are needed and instructions on how to make the dress. This type of dress is definitely not for beginners. Happy Stitching! Marty It takes one moment to change a life.

As exciting as it might be to make a dress and wear it to something important, an important event is not the best time to decide to learn to sew. Your very first garment won't, by any stretch of the imagination, be your best.

hhmmmm...nice dress.....I wouldn't attempt it if I didn't know how to sew..I'd learn to use my machine first on scraps (maybe with a LOT of help) then make something simple....the dress in the picture is MUCH more complicated than it looks, especially when you go to fit it.

Marty I went to the fabric store today and checked out some patterns relatively close to this dress. Didn't find much I wished patterns came in more simpler designs... |
