This has been quite a month for me. First I got good news my youngest daughter and hubby are expecting their first grandchild in October..this will be my 3rd.
Right after that one of my brother-in-laws had a stroke and is struggling to regain use of left side.
Then this week we learned my oldest brother has bi-lateral pneumonia and is gravely ill. He is mentally challenged and doesn't always understand how sick he is. He is also over 600 miles away from us so hard to get to him.

All prayers are welcome from all religions - I'm not fussy as I believe my God hears them all.

Dear Violet, you and your family are certainly in my prayers...I agree that God doesn't give us more than we can deal with. Just pray and you will get the strength you need to get through this trying time. BTW congrats on the upcoming grandchild. They are truly blessings from God. Keep us posted please.:bluesmile

My dear brother lost the fight against pneumonia yesterday. However, if he had survived it, the doctors said he would have been bed ridden for the rest of his life as his lungs were so damaged.
For all of you who smoke, please quit, for your own health and the love of your family.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. And, yes, ditto to what Violet says about stopping now if you're a smoker. Please, please.

My daughter (with the little girl) started sneaking around and smoking about the ninth grade. She lied, and stole to support her smoking habit...at least it never graduated to something else. When she got pregnant at 16, she stopped...and I was thrilled. Now that she is getting through the respiratory therapy program and has worked with victims of cigarette smoke, she is (finally) dead set against it!

I'm am so terribly sorry for your loss. My grand daughter came home from the hospital after delivery the very day my mother entered the hospital for the very last time. I hope that you will get to spend lots of time planning for the new baby...and with it when it gets here. I know that ours has been a real blessing through an unbearable sorrow.

I'm sorry for your loss Violet. I don't really know what to say as I am not in your situation and don't have the relationship you had with your brother. I nevertheless feel for you.

Hugs and kisses.

Violet, I am so sorry for your loss.. I can second the motion for everyone to stop smoking.. I have been smoke free for 5 years, now.. I never thought I would have the mindset to quit, but when I got Pneumonia 5 years ago, it wiped away all desire for cigarets.. I have never touched another one.. and I didn't have withdrawal pains or anything.. My Dr. said I was just too sick to realize I was having withdrawal pains..Anyway, I am so glad I finally stopped..:whacky: :whacky:

Yes Violet you are in my prayers also. Don't worry he hears you no matter who you are, where you are and what you believe. You're in my prayers.

That new baby can really take the edge off of your feelings of sorrow. Let us know when it gets here. I have one on the way also this year. October as of now.

Thanks all. This has been a tough week. To complicate matters he died without a will and little money for funeral, etc. and he died over 1,000 miles from here so everything is difficult to arrange. Like they say, it never rains but it pours.
However, we feel he is in a better place now as he was not the type that could stand to be bed-ridden..but it still hurts!

thanks again for prayers and nice thoughts.
Violet

p.s. to any of you without an Power of Attorney and a will, please go get one!
