I'm very out spoken, what's on my mind comes out of my mouth, fun loving, cheerful most of the time, a family orientated, happy go lucky, cautious, optimistic, down to earth lady. Pewwww that was hard.

I'm a fat, cranky, menopausal old woman that loves to sew and is pretty satisfied with herself and her life.

I am an Anal type (expect everyone to do their job to keep all afloat), GREAT sense of humour (Oh well sometimes, no one laughs with me), extremely creative when it comes to money matters, my introvert ways bring the extrovert out in me, menopausal (that is a story for the grandkids..NOT) a dare would make me the first one to conquer..

I am family oriented, peacekeeper, loving, caring, giving, creative person with no prejudices with a deep respect for both all man/ladykind, creatures of the world, and the earth itself but I am also quick witted (too quick with the mouth somedays and should learn to think first) and with what my kids call a 'warped" sense of humour but in spite as being known as the peacekeeper of the family, I take no "crap" from those who try to give it to me.

Susie --
Menopause is NOT a fault. I consider it a blessing. Whenever anyone gives me a hard time I say "Stop -- you are giving me a hot flash." I don't know how long I can drag this out but I hope to get mileage out of it until, like my mother-in-law, I can blame everything on senility.

Well Dorothy my husband will beg to differ with you. He tells me that all my menopause problems are faults of mine. Example.........If I'm hot (everyone else in the house is hot) and he is cold then there is something wrong with me. If I fail to take the "crap" he dishes out and I speak up, then there is something wrong with me. If you ask him, menopause is a fault, right. :bg:

Now I don't believe that for one minute it's a fault, but to some men it is and no arguing will ever change their opinion. So I agree, as long as I know the truth, who cares what he thinks, he's so much easier to get along with when he thinks he's right.

Dear Mother-in-law,

You are right on with the hot flashes! Whew! I told my hubby just grab another blanket and wrap up! Ten more years and we'll both grab a blanket and wrap up. (-:

Susie, Susie, Susie --
You apparently aren't taking the right approach. We wait about 50 years for the excuse to be a raving b&*^# so take advantage of it. Anyone that doesn't like it -- get out of the way!!
Of course I'm just joking (mostly).
I think maybe you spent most of your life with males. I had two very strong daughters and my husband has learned to respect and beware of female hormones. We taught him well that survival depends on how well he can say "Yes Dear" without sounding condescending.

Through many creative moments, my Mum managed to make "the change" as she called it last about 35-40 years. Way to go Mum, keep control of the thermostat!
All I've noticed, apart from wacky temp shifts, is a serious increase in libido! Go Me! (DH is impressed!)

Welcome Jgutierrez, you have come to the right place with your personality. You sound like you will fit in here just nicely. Glad to have ya.

Jan that is not one of the symptoms of menopause!!!! It's just the oppisite HONEY. You would be different. But I love ya anyway.

Dorothy, Dorothy, Dorothy, to answer your question. Yes I am surrounded by MEN. I had three sons. All of which take after their PAW (cajun slang for Daddy) Hardheaded so I had to learn some tricks to get around them all these years. I've been married for 35 years and it wasn't easy training them all.

I discovered a cure for my Hubby getting cold while I wring out my shorts and tees with perspiration. I made him a cap for his shinny bald head and it worked. AMEN!!!!! I got a shower cap and put a face cloth in it to cover his bald head and he sat there watching TV laughing at me because it worked. Yeah!!!!!! Chalk one up for me!!!!! Now I have to convince him that the Air Conditioner thermostat is broken so it is 5 degrees hotter than it actually reads. Hey if you could see him sitting there with this cap on then you'll know I can convince him of anything. YEAH

I am a happy person who likes most everyone until they give me a reason not to, which is seldom, because I am willing to overlook anyone else's faults if they will overlook mine; I think most things are funny, and have spent my life asking WHY & HOW (a great big fault according to my mother) about everything. I have a bio around here somewhere that pretty much covers everything about me (about half a typing page); maybe with the freemotion columns I used to write. mariLynntx

What new medicine did you get? I do not want to take estrogen. Wonder if it is something I may be able to take.

Thanks,

Creative, innovative punk-rock girl relishing traditional housewife role. I spend much of my time on the beach with my kids and Hot Mama friends, wasting my engineering degree by doing "nothing useful". I'm a film buff who loves to cook dinner for company, sew, drink red wine, read the Bible, work on my zine, and enjoy good conversation.

(OT - It seems half the threads on this forum get taken over with talk about hot flashes and menopausal hormones. I think it's cute!)

Gabby, my daughter (in menopause) takes a synthetic hormone called Vista (Avista?) and keeps telling me to ask my doctor about it since I no longer take Premarin or anything else. Ask your doctor...good advice even if I haven't been following it! MariLynntx

I am a very caring and loving person, who is a little anal, love to make new friends but only have a few. I love to create by doing new projects for around the house. Some new things I have done and am proud of are painting (household itmes) sewing and learning how to quilt. I love to thrift store shop and decorate!

I’m 21, I’m an active cosplayer, I go to all sorts of conventions wearing new, interesting costumes with my romantic partner, which are usually inspired by video game and anime character costumes.

You’ll probably get to know me better once I start posting more and sharing pictures of my creations and convention adventures. ^_^

Welcome, Dexter! I started sewing specifically to make our own ren/medieval/fantasy garb, so am really looking forward to hearing more about your costumes & conventions. Love the bunny! Is it a house rabbit?

Hmmm...one sentence...
"A logical-to-a-fault academic tomboy control freak who is learning to mellow out and enjoy be a girl."
Thanks to my former roommate, learned I like cooking...thanks to RenFest, learned I love wearing beautiful clothes...thanks to my husband, learned to sew (who do you think taught me how to thread the machine?) Of course, my dad's ticked I spend my hunting license money on fabric instead, and would rather prepare the elk than track it...LOL Everyone leaves the nest sometime!

I am a middle-aged ( middle age is what ever age I am right now)lady (I use THAT term lightly) who is Mom to 3 girls 30, 28, and 14 and Grandma to 2 girls 5 & 8, - wife to hubby #2, and surragate mother to 2 dogs and 4 cats and I sew for a living in my own home based business because was the best excuse I could think of to explain why I spent more time in a fabric store than in my own kitchen and I also work part-time in a group home for the mentally handicapped where my sense of humor comes in handy but for some reason is not always appreciated by the family who has to live with me.
(there is only one period in the whole thing :) so that does make it ONE sentence)
