Yesterday was my local quit shops anniversary...Margies has been in business for 33 yrs. She has a great sale every May, on a sunday, between 1-5 pm.....fabric 40% off if you empty the bolt, 30% if you don't. 30% off everything but machines...she provides food and drinks, freebies if you buy something. (this year was 3 mini king spools of YLI thread, a thread hooker, a pen and a thread chart to tell you the difference between types of thread and what all the numbers mean.) I managed to come home with 29 yrds of fabric, 43 spools of thread, a CD of embroidery patterns, needles, and a roll of stabilizer.....my husband had the guts to ask what I needed all the fabric and thread for....I managed NOT to hit him and I said..the same thing you need all the cameras, scanners, photo paper and printer ink for.... "I feel good...nana nana nana na..." Chrys

Good for you, good comeback! I don't think I've accumulated that many spools of thread in over 40 years of sewing, I feel like such a slacker. Whatcha gonna make? |

Chrys, 43 spools of thread ALONG with how many more at home? You sound like you have been in My sewing room!!!!! I have close to 100+ spools, BUT they all get used so I don't have any rotten threads around. I am trying to use it up before I have to really buy anymore. I am in the process of getting all fabric made up into something and so far so good!!!! |

welllll..lets see...I just bought 43 spools...when I got my machine year before last I got 150 (mini king) spools....I also got 30 spools when I got my cabinet...then on top of that I've had to buy (because I didn't have the colors I wanted) about 100 spools more (or less).....I guess I'm for thread like other women are for shoes/purses/clothes....one can never have too many spools of thread (and thats just for my embroidery/sewing machine...I also have about 60 spools of serger thread)......and yes I AM actually using them all....I got a graduation announcement on Mon and I have 2 weeks to make a quilt...so the top is done...embroidered and all...now for the back and put it together....I embroider just about anything that can be embroidered.... I used to be a cake decorator (for about 30 yrs). I'm not allowed to do that anymore, so I substituted decorating in thread on fabric as my hobby...maybe I'll turn it into a job, like I did my cake decorating.... Chrys
