Hi all I am new!!

I have just made my first pillow using Sanderson Willow Boughs fabric and I am so pleased with the results! I even got the piping right first time around! Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how to assemble a pillow with an opening along the back so I can take the cushion pad in and out? The one I have just made is whip stitched closed at the bottom and I have to unpick it to launder. I cannot really explain what I mean apart from it just looks like a neat flap 3/4 of the way up the back of the pillow or 1/2 way down. And the top of the opening sits neatly over the bottom. Can anyone help?

Many Thanks

Joanne

Hi Joanne, welcome to Sew Whats New. :bluesmile

I think I know what you mean. One side is supposed to overlap the other so the pillowform is easily removed.

When you cut the bottoms. Cut one a few inches wider. Hem both sides and stitch to the front piece. One side will overlap the other. Hope this is clearer than mud. :bluewink:

My instructions say " cut 2 pieces 2/3 the size of the front, hem one of them on the edge of the overlap. Put wrong sides together with hemmed back piece on top, sew around all four sides. Turn to right side thru opening created in back.":bg:
