A while back I purchased 4 yards of Chinese Brocade. I don't remember why, but I can not think of a thing to do with it, other then making a purse. Can anyone give me ideas for other things to do with it besides a purse or give it away. Thanks |

The newest issue of Threads has a good article on Chinese brocade with lots of ideas and information about working with it and about preparation and care. I just finished a kimono style jacket out of one of the fabrics shown in the article which makes me disagree, to some extent, that it is best only for close fitted garments. Dorothy |

I should think it would be beautiful for a bathrobe, or a longer jacket.

That's an awful lot of purses with 4 yards just kidding. I've been looking at chinese brocade for a while and plan on making a vest for the summer. A matching skirt would be too much but I can match it with plain fabric and maybe get a nice pair of shoes to go with it |

I adore the brocades satins of China! I have made several items, with Kamonoes for my doll designs, and some awesome pillow cases to decorate a bedroom. I have also covered several pillow forms for my livingroom. You will love sewing on it. Warmly, Debi ***See Our New Picture Trail web site!***

I think jeans style jackets look so cool in fancy fabrics including brocades. That and a vest will consume the 4 yards.
