I made a couple of dog coats using a pattern made from instructions on the internet.
Even when I make sure the coat is sitting properly on him when he walks it moves and ends up over on one side. Anyone have any idea what I have done wrong? Would like to do one that would stay put. He is a fat corgi.
Thanks
Anne

I made some for my sisters dog (a Jack Russell) they go around the neck and are fastened with velcro. (as well as going around his body) She doesn't have a problem with'em that I know of...
maybe you can fasten'em around his front legs and/or neck....that should keep'em in place.

I made one for my Jack Russell -- leopard skin no less -- and she loved it, especially when people stopped to tell her how cute she was. Eventually started coming open at the neck though. Now she has outgrown it completely. It was like Chrys described and it never moved "up over on one side." It was a commercial pattern, I'm not sure what company off hand.

Thank you Chrysantha and Dorothy for your replies regarding the dog coat. I have it fastened around his neck. Have a feeling it may be something to do with his build and the fact that he walks like he is on high heels, his back end wiggles like mad when he walks.

I had the same problem. Mine was with a commercial pattern. My dog is a pekingese and prisses when he walks. His coat twists on the back end to one side. Someone gave him a knitted sweater for Christmas that has stretchy straps to go around the hind legs. Wala! It stays on his body. So, I am planning to put some straps on the one that I made. Hope it works.

Thanks Candy
I was thinking that might be the best idea but wasn't sure if it would work.
Will give it a try.
