What is your favourite craft magazine? I have bought literally hundreds and thousands over the years. Some are ok, others are junk.

Lately, I have noticed the australian magazines. These seem very well done to me. Beautiful photos, loads of instructions and patterns. The subject matter is varied too, not just one or two different projects.

The best one I have found so far is called Australian Country Craft and Decorating. I like the little stories in it too.

What's your favourite and why?

Hmmm...well then, Australian Patchwork and Quilting and American Patchwork and Quilting...both for the variety of "doable" quilt patterns. Same goes for Quiltmaker, but I buy lots of other quilt magazines too...just can't help myself. The only other "crafty" magazine I buy occasionally is Family Circle Easy Knitting. I also collect patterns like a maniac off the web.

I first came into contact with Burda when I was stationed in Germany in 1975. Even though I couldn't read German very well, the pictures did help and intuition helped with the rest. It was challenging asking for a tracing wheel, but I soon learned to draw clear pictures and pantomime a lot.

Just read this post!
I love the 2 sewing magazines Threads & Sew News.
I need to find another or two of magazines that have a lot of
small sewing projects as I cannot devote all the time I want
to at present to big projects. Has anyone any good ones in
this line? I pop in to the forum when I need to sit down for a
few minutes so will check back. Thanks all!:bluesmile

Leapfrog Libby....Where is this mag. published? Today I asked
at the Pharmacy where I shop (large mag. selection) and they
could not find it in their ordering forms.
I will try " Chapters" which usually has a good selection.
Does it have a web site? I could try that?:nc:

Hi Nancee. We do indeed have cats. I've grown up with cats all my life and within the last 3 years have also taken on 2 "large breed" dogs. The cats are Josie, who's Persian, very silky and has a soft meow. Gigi is a tabby/Abyssian mix that came to us from the Maui humaine society. Our newest member is Cricket, a grey, swirly patterned cat. She has the sweetest face and is such a rascal. All 3 have their very special personalities and idiosyncracies.
The dogs are brother/sister and a mix of German Shepherd, Chow and Lab. They have black spots on their tongue and the fur is longer than the Lab or German Shepherd pure breds. Ginger is a German Shepherd, heart and spirit. If you hide in the grasses of the dunes or behind building, she'll not stop til she finds you. She would be such a super rescue dog. She can jump a 4 foot fence, no problem (we in fact had to increase the back fence to 6 feet to keep her in the yard. Sebastian is a gentle soul that is a thoughtful thinker. It's almost like the wheels are turning in his brain. Both tear up the yard, howl when sirens are miles away and jump all over us. But last night was pretty cool.

The weather yesterday was 90 degrees until about dinner time. There was an instant change in the weather as the clouds rolled in, turned grey and thunder arrived. No lightning here but 5 miles away, in Vancouver, there was. I was sitting in the steps of the gazebo with the dogs, as they were agitated. So as we sat there, the very TALL trees surrounding our house were swaying and the sky was looking very ominous. It was nice sharing the moment with the dogs. I guess you had to have been there. It was kind of scary, exciting and curious all at once. These are moments that are hard to share with cats. And, I love the Animal Planet shows!
