Hey Blackie, That site was awsome. Do you have any more sites like that you can send me. I just ordered that cake pattern you make out of diapers and blankets. They are really cute for showers. I'm crocheting a baby blanket for my DIL right now and I'm almost finished and need some more projects for the new baby to work on. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks. |

I am making the precious peeps baby quilt (http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/esb_precious-peeps-quilt.html) for my son. This is a very cute and fast quilt. I chose it the day I went into labor because I didn't want to be bothered with planning out a quilt the way I normally have done. It is the perfect size for putting on the floor where your little one can play. I am making mine with retro-style fabrics and only putting the chick applique figures on every other square to speed things up. I will post pictures when I am done. This is an easy project even if you have never quilted. And since I am about halfway done with mine I would be happy to give tips to someone who is attempting it. One project I think looked great on sewbaby was the cloth diaper covers (http://www.sewbaby.com/big/diapers_/701.diapercoverpattern.html). If your DIL is interested in cloth diapering at all this would be a practical and fun project. Diaper covers are expensive! Sewbaby also has the elastic binding for this project. I wish someone would have made me some cloth diaper covers when I had my first baby. I will try to think of some other project ideas. It's funny because I have a six-week old baby myself (and a 2 year old), but I can't think of any good projects for your new grandchild! Duh! So when is your DIL due? Is this your first grandchild? see the mundane life of a housewife.

Luv2sew So sorry this is late in repling. My computer is giving me fits. I'm not getting my mail like I should. Cox has a filter on it now that is trying to catch the virus that is going around saying it's from Cox and now all my mail is messed up. Yes, I love my grands. Sometimes they can get a little too much for me to handle, Making messes and messing with things they shouldn't but all in all they are wonderful. Love them. My DIL hasn't had a second ultrasound yet to see what the baby is yet. But when she does, I'll be sewing up a storm. LOL Thanks for asking. |
