First.... bear with me: this is my first attempt at sharing on Sew What's New bulletin boards..... I was ironing this camp shirt the other day and decided to snap some pictures to share it with fellow sewers: http://www.londas-sewing.com/images/cherrywoodshirtfront.jpg http://www.londas-sewing.com/images/cherrywoodshirtback.jpg i love these hand-dyed fabrics...they look like suede to me. The piping was inspired by the mother of pearl buttons that had the black as a background. They are hard to button, but I love them anyway. This shirt was (alot) of work, and though I almost tossed it aside, but I'm glad I didn't. I pieced fabrics I'd cut up willy-nilly until the piece was big enough for the pattern piece - ONLY big enough for the pattern piece, then cut out - etc. The piecing seams are all serged on the inside too. I find myself drawn to doing something 'extra specially creative' on my casual clothing because I now work from home, and most places I go are casual - and I want my stuff to be different and creative and 'only me'. Thank goodness we occassionally go ballroom dancing r where I can 'really' get dressed up! Londa

Hi Londa, it's about time. Love the shirt, they are very comfy for home. One minute I am working on the computer, the next I am cleaning bathrooms or on the phone. These are my standby most of the time. I threw a bunch of T shirts I had in the charity bag. Just a bit too sloppy. I saw myself in a mirror in the mall and it was a bad scene so away they went.
