Hi, I know there is a site somewhere that offers manuals. Can you help this girl, thanks.

My name is Debbie and I bought a used 385 Kenmore machine without the manual. It didn't come with the manual and I'm having a hard time finding one. Would you know where I can get a hold of one? I live in the U.S. and the company that puts out the instruction book wants toooo much for it. A used manual would be fine.

You can get Kenmore manuals from Sears, but here is another site too:

I recently bought an Elna 62 without a manual and was really shocked to find only one dealer's website that charged $40 for a copy of that manual. Actually, the original manual no longers exists anywhere (according to Elna and every dealer I tried) so the copy would have been for a similar model. That just did not work for me!

I then went to ebay, set up a search in the favorite searches section that would email me daily when anything came up that I was looking for. I got lucky and found the original manual for my machine and paid $20 instead of $40. Happy day!

Good luck with your manual search - it can be frustrating, I know! I don't know anything about Kenmore machines but I do know about finding manuals...ebay is a good resource if you are patient and set up general searches.

In our church sewing room we have several modern (last 4 years) kenmore machines. The little blue 3/4 sized one, a 385.15108 (I know this number because this is what I use), 385.15116 (same machine as mine, just more stitches), a straigh stitch/zigzag only one, and a fancier one. I know the manuals for most of them are in the cases with them. If you email me a picture of yours, I can compare it to those at church and if it looks close in function to one of those, on Sunday I could borrow the manual and I could send you a copy of the english pages that you need of the closest one. Even if it is not exact, it sure might help.
