I am wanting to convert my old maternity clothes so they fit normal.... Does anyone know an easy way to do this? I don't know if you can or how to make the A- line look go away. |

Well you can always take in the side seams, but then an A line is normally on a bias,so that may cause problems with that idea.
If at first you don't suceed, try-try again!

I don't know about anyone else, but I couldn't wait to throw them in the back of the closet. I never wanted to see them again once I got into regular clothes again.

Maybe she has my problem.. Immediately after giving birth, I could not fit into my regular clothes for 3 or 4 months, til I lost the extra weight I had gained..Misery! ! I'm glad I'm too old to go thru that now..

Maternity pants have the problem that not only are they wider in the tummy, they rise higher than normal pants...remember how they fitted when you first started wearing them? If you have dresses with a seam below the bustline, they may also have that problem. Maternity clothes are often cut with bias in the front so they will give and they are longer in the front usually above and below the waist so that they don't hike up when you get as big as two barns. You could probably take the panel out of things that have one and just replace it with a regular piece of fabric and elastic at the top. Some of the dresses made like that really need to be taken apart at the seam below the bust and recut. Maternity pants may also be a little wider in the caboose because women's shape changes in the hips during pregnancy. pam
