Just had to share... My 18yr old DS is leaving today on for a 10 day trip to Puerta Vallarta, DD leaves tomorrow for a 9 day trip with school to Washington DC and all the sites. DH is gone half this time for work, I will miss them but I am ready for some much needed time for myself. I don't think I've had this much time to myself since before the kids. I am looking forward to coming home after work taking a walk instead of making dinner and then watching chick flicks and sewing! I plan on parking my sewing machine in the family room and using it to my hearts content!!! Lori |

Thanks for the movie Tips! My Dear MIL just called. She's worried I will have a hard time with everyone away. Little does she know I'm busy planning my time. I promised her I'd visit on Father's day but the rest of the time I'm going to enjoy the quiet, the remote and not having to wait on or taxi anyone! After I take DD to the bus tomorrow I'm going to stop at the video store with my list. I bought some gorgeous new fabric this week to quilt. I'm making something just for the fun of it, not because it matches my house or someone elses I know! Let the fun begin! Lori |

Go Lori! Enjoy the 'me' time - it's rare and welcome. You could always do "Pirates of the Carribean" for the joy of Johnny Depp! Dirty Dancing? Ghost? or are you more into Pride and Prejudice. My husband is away at a day conference next Saturday so I've got my Big Frock monies lined up - Wuthering Heights and Emma! love and kisses, Jan

Sounds like you have a great time ahead of you. My DDs are going to camp this week and DH has a workshop M, W, and F. I'm really looking forward to having the house to myself. Course I won't get to sew-the LCD screen on my machine has gone blank and has to be sent off to be fixed or I may get a new machine. But I will be able to orgnize the Sewing/Craft room, again. Enjoy your alone time!!! Peggy |

How did your week really turn out? I imagine you got lots of unexpected interruptions on your "week to yourself". When you are the person in charge, it's hard for people to disconnect from you. They can't seem to function on their own, like they've suddenly forgotten how to do the simplest things. Then there are the folks who like to visit unannounced or call and yak your ear off. I always have to turn the phone off to ever get any length of uninterrupted time to myself. Did you get much sewing done? |
