Thanks for asking. It is a 174 black and white pages with a hard back cover. The dust jacket is in color. The book is used but in very good condition. This book covers everything from diaper shirts to christening gowns. It shows the difference between boy and girl outfits. It shows the basic construction of square , round and empire yoked dresses. There are some patterns , lots of diagrams and hand embroidery patterns to trace. There are diagrams of patterns to trace on gridded paper. Let me know if you want to know anymore. Oh, I forgot to say the stitches you would use are all hand work. The only time I saw a sewing machine mentioned was to use it without thread to put holes in fabric. Instructions for hand stitches are in the first volume. This book is volume 2. Thanks again.
