Seems to be as I get older, I am not into the short shorts and the high waist bands of the past. As everything now is the lower wait and to me it is much more comfortable. Anyways the new vision I had was to take the waistband off an old pair of denim shorts (button-fly) with a seam ripper and then I did the same to the legs. I opened up the seams, pressed it well with lots of spray starch and laundered them. They look and feel really good! They got the frayed look and are lower waisted. Plus I added and extra inch or two to the length. I suppose you could do the same with jeans too. A new way to recycle old clothes that are still in good shape. Leah970

Hi Leah, how did you finish off the top where the waistband was or did you?

I didnt finish the waistband. I just left it and it has the frayed look too. It llooks really good. And the best part is that if they eventually fall apart, it didnt cost me anything anyways!
