OMG! It's 98, scorching degrees outside. I HATE this hot weather! I start falling asleep at my desk and am so cranky. I cannot wait until the Fall. That's my favorite season.

Hahahahahahaha...sorry....couldn't help it....my sister lives in Tualatin...she always complains about the heat...I don't know why when it only lasts 2-3 weeks....most of the time there it's cool and rainy..

Come here and live in FL....it's been 105 or MORE every day for the past month...and we've had the ac on since the first week of March..it'll STAY on till about Oct 31st or LATER..(these last few years the kids trick or treat without costumes....it's too hot, their makeup runs too) It's sooooo humid you can actually SEE the air....it's hazy and smells....(swampy)
(and yes if I could afford it, I WOULD move........)

I happen to love the fall too....I wish we had more of one here....I LOVE the cool/cold weather.....::heavy sigh::

Last week was cold and rainy most of the week -- like fall weather. I'm glad it finally warmed up. I'll take the warm over winter cold and snow anytime. But the wet is worst. It gets in my bones and makes me feel old. I don't have time for that.

Wow! We have a running joke in our family. Everytime DH's family (I married a web foot) comes down from Portland (OR) it get really hot there and it is cooler here. Same thing happens when one of us go up there. We always thought we were trading weather. This year it sounds like neither side had to travel for it to get hot in OR. It is a near-perfect summer here this year, but we are ohhhhh so very wet and humid. We need the rain but eve though the temps are down, it is very tropical here this summer. Sounds like you guys have broken the family theory.

I've lived in Oregon all my life, except for a 3 year Army stint in climates that are so different from ours: in Ft McClellan (Alabama) I experienced severe acclimation problems to the humidity (it's thick there in July) and in Ft Jackson (SC), where adding insult to injury, I meet up with an unfortunate situation with red ants.

The weather seems to have changed dramatically over the years, likely to ozone depletion. As a child growing up in Oregon, there were maybe a few freak days that got above 100+ (only about 2 days for the whole season, generally). For the past 10 years though the weather has taken on this humid, sultry feel that is just non-Oregon in nature. So, the humidity factor has changed. I hate the humidity!

Now that I no longer am sun-bather, the heat is definitely a big nuisance. Although too much rain is not good (except for crops in another state-maybe we could pipeline some to ya all in the farming heartlands), it's just a day to spend inside, sewing /crafting. I choose the rain any day.

Besides, the heat makes migraines painfully abundant.

I've been an Okie all my life. When I was a child, most of the area around here was in crops with a few small ranches. Not many people could afford to irrigate and because we were in crops, there weren't many trees. The weather was unbelievably hot, but it was arid...and everything bruned up by mid or late June. I loved that dry heat. I hated the awful dust storms. Over the years, we have seen a lot of development in and around our area...all directions. There are more trees, and pools, people water their lawns and they plant and water grass. I really think that it has to do with the fact that we are not farming anymore and that trees are everywhere, but it has gotten very humid in the summer with or without rain. I haven't seen a bad dust storm in at least 25 years. This year is really an exception though. Besides the humidity, we have just gotten tons of rain which is very welcome. We have had several years of low rainfall and the aquifers are low. They tell us that we'd need at least 12 months of this to bring the aquafers up to the right level. I just hope we don't have wildfires in the winter after this lush grass dies.

Well, today was a record-setting day in Portland of 103 degrees.
ARRRrgh!!! I'm melting! Tomorrow will be more of the same and so the Mall we'll go to keep cool. Never too early to shop for children's school clothes, eh?
