I thought I would catch on, but I haven't. What do all the letters mean. I saw DD when refering to a daughter. I know what one D means. What about the other one. Is there a chart somewhere? While reading about sewing patterns I saw RTW a lot. Can some one give me a hand. Holly Berry

Hi Holly, I think that RTW is 'ready-to-wear'. As for the DD, DS, DH, etc., they refer to family members, with the first D representing 'dear'. So you have Dear Daughter, Dear Son or Dear Sister(I guess), Dear Husband, etc. I don't particularly care for the abbreviations, but I guess it saves time, energy, and bandwidth... Hope this helps. Take care,

Thank you DMoses for clearing that up. I knew that it probably either stood for "dear" or "DUH". Sometimes......
