While we were in New Hampshire we visited Keepsake Quilting and next door is Patternworks. www.patternworks.com Lovely store for anyone who loves to knit. All sorts of exotic yarns and patterns. I found it interesting and I do not like to knit. Weird needles made from all sorts of things, tons of stuff for beginners. It was nice to see quite a few young girls searching out their next knitting project. They also have videos and gifts for knitters, (some awesome brooches, etc.) and other really neat stuff. MaryW

One of my girls has a roommate that loves to knit. Unfortunately she has a very short attention span and two socks bore her. Well, maybe it is fortunate. She makes socks for my daughter but they have a deal. No two are alike but to be a pair they have to both be the same colors OR the same pattern. Not both. So my daughter has some wild socks. My favorite is a pair that kind of break the rule. They are the same color and have the same checkered pattern -- but one is short and one is a knee hi. Dorothy |

I like the idea of asymmetric socks! That would go down well with dd2!
