No one should call themselves dummies. We are all learners. Ask away. There are many talented people on this site.:bluewink:

I have a couple questions that I hope you can help me with today (if I order today I will save on S/H).

Recently, I bought a new Simplity Liberty SA1600 sewing machine online; it came with about 5 or 6 presser feet and a foot cover, but does not look like anything that I can use to do free motion quilting let alone even sew with/on several layers, such as quilting. So I am just trying to find someone to reassure me that the following is what I need to do quilting projects:

Even Feed Walking Foot (low shank)
Free Motion Quilting/darning foot (low shank)
¼” Seam Allowance foot (I think the all purpose zig zag foot that I already have allows me to do this, but this comes with the kit.)

Have a good day and look forward to hearing from you.

(I did have someone tell me that I my machine requires low shank)

I have ordered the Quilting Kit [Even Feed Walking Foot (low shank), Free Motion Quilting/darning foot (low shank), ¼” Seam Allowance foot
Hope to learn how to do free motion quilting and also to embroider granddaughter's name on a quilt I am making her.
I am trying to figure out how to use this chat. I've been going back and forth and fill that I am confused. Guess I will keep surfing.

Bye for now, have a good day.

Yes, you need a walking foot to go thru all the layers of a quilt.
Yes, you need a darning/freemotion/stipping foot (one will do, they can have different names and do the same thing)
If you cannot move your needle around, then yes a 1/4 inch foot is needed.
You did good.

As far as using the boards, its like anything new, once you get the swing of it, you find it's second nature.

Welcome to the boards
