Welcome back to anyone who might stumble upon this.

Our boards were severely hacked by unknowns. I will be working on them steadily over the coming weeks, but we are back!!!

Our boards were severely hacked by unknowns.

Wow, Mary, how annoying was that!

I definitely have a better name in mind than 'unknown' for the loser who hacked you. This new board is nice, and I'm sure we all really appreciate how hard you must have been working to get us up and going again, thanks!

I'm going to hop over to Sewing World Commons and let that bunch (many of whom are also this bunch) know that all is well again.

I've been chomping at the bit with questions I wanted to ask and I am very thankful that this is back up. What a major annoyance. I have a question--several actually but I'll start with one: Is there a way to turn a regular fabric into water resistant? I have a heavy weight poplin I would love to use for a rain coat. I appreciate your comments folks! I'm delighted to see this headache resolve.

I didn't want to forget to mention how much I like the new look. I find this site to be very well organized and easy to use. I am so glad the security issues have been improved upon. These days I don't know if it is possible to really hack-proof a computer, which is truly sad. Hackers need to get a life! :pc:

The rather frightful message I saw was apparently from the Arabic language-the putzes. How dare they mess with the board. What good could it have possibly served. Makes me wonder about the stability of people.

Missed all the good banter.

It was wierd because I pulled up your site and the whole right side of the screen was this Arabic looking stuff and the middle and left side was your regular board. Later I came back and you were gone and the Arabic stuff I saw earlier was the entire page and of course the colors had changed. I've missed you all! Welcome back!

I'm so glad we're all back home again.
I really missed ya all.
And as for Linda Marie's question about water proofing -- I've seen clear vinyl that can ba applied to fabric to make it water proof. I didn't try it so I don't know how well it works. I saw it at JoAnn's I think

Good to see everything is up and running again. That wasn't nice to hack into such a great site. Hope all goes well from here on in. The new look is very different though and like everything it just takes time to re-settle into the changes. :coffee:

Thank Goodness.. I was so into withdrawal.. I don't know if I could have lasted much longer.. I was lapsing into old habits.. Phones, you know.. Mary , Bless you for getting the boards back into working order.. Now , to answer Linda Mrie's question about water proofing fabric.. There is a product out called "Scotchgard".. you spray it on any fabric and it protects .. It has been on the market at least 30 years .. The instructions tell you how much area the can will cover.. It is the protection that is on most upholstered furniture that you buy.. When I was married and made Ties for DH (D is not for Dear) LOL, I used it to keep the ties clean and spot free.. I also used it back in those days when all of us wore London Fog Raincoats.. I would re-apply to the raincoats when I noticed they needed it.. ( after I washed in the machine)

Thanks for the tip Libby. Does this product change the look or feel of the fabric?

No change at all... It is a 3M product.. They stand behind all their products..The can is red plaid..

Oh the vision is wonderful. You will not believe what you are not seeing after it done. I didn't know how bad my vision was until I could see everything again. The most drastic thing was finding out that all the colors I was seeing were washed out. Now I can see everything very vivid. When in September are you having it done? I will pray you do as well as I did. Keep in touch with us as time goes on and remind me right before you go in. I'm so busy lately with the baby shower and the new baby coming and my up coming vacation some days I can't remember my own name.

By the way everyone, In the 17 weeks on Weight Watchers I've lost 31 pounds. I feel so much better my husband is actually calling me skinny, (which is far from the truth at the moment) but it feels good anyway.

hey Mary, have had a very busy summer to say the least, hubby still has the blood clot in his leg (since november of 03) but, it's finally starting to disolve with help of medication, constant running to dr. with him... still taking care of 97 year old grandmother, she isn't doing to well here lately, they thought her lung was full again, did a x-ray and it showed no fluid, so it's her heart that is causing all the problems now, and she is tired and starting to give up the fight and trying to prepare the family of whats to come, god bless her she has given her all... youngest daughter is back to school today!!!!!!!!!!!! (oldest started back to college today also) so i have blocks of time to catch up on everything, i haven't done much sewing all summer, i hope to get my sewing room dusted and get some sewing done... i can't wait to get caught up here and join back in all the fun!!!
