Always use the same ruler to measure, draw and cut your project. Use the same one until your quilt is done. All rulers are NOT the same and measurements can differ slightly. Just enough to mess up your points. If you have any tips on making piecework easier, feel free to post them here. MaryW

Very important quilting tip: Banish anything feline from your sewing area until quilt is pieced! Nothing like having a bunch of intricate pieces laid out and then return from the loo to find them all over the floor (or puked on)!! I love my putties, but when mummy is piecing or cutting it's a cat-free zone, LOL! |

I use plastic sandwich bags, inexpensive, to put pieces in, either by size or colour, depending on the project. I mark what ever I'm doing on the outside of the bag and when done just pick the bag I need to start sewing. Keeps the pieces clean and organized, in case it takes awhile to finish. Don't loose any pieces either. |
