I am making a skirt for a lady and she wants inset "V"s on both front and back anf side seams. I have had to make the pattern myself, no problem, she brought an old skirt for me to copy from.
My problem is that the skirt that she brought is knit, the one she needs in a very lightweight almost lining material!!!! I am having the hardest time trying to set the "V"s in to get a clean point. I need someone else's brain to do this.

I have interfaced the slit in the skirt and have stay stitched the "V". I am only allowing for a 1/4 " seam, I'm thinking I should make is 5/8"????? I don't think that increasing it to 5/8's will change it. Am I on the right track or not? I just can not get a clean point on this thing, and I have another one to make. This is driving me nuts!!!!!!! :bang: :bang: :bang:

Do you quilt? When I do points in quilting I sew up to the seam allowance, then go from the other side and do the same. Maybe this will help you. Try this method with basting and see if it works. If it does tack it when you are happy with the results. Measure the 5/8 seam and then mark with chalk or other non-permanent marker. Sew to the mark. I hope this makes any sense.

Thanks for your help. After you mentioned quilting I ran up and grabbed my books on quilting!!! They have PICTURES IT THEM!!!!! So I did what you said and IT WORKED!!!! I have clean points, but I still don't like the material that she picked out to use for this project. I have told her this and that the next project she has in mind to let me go with her ,then I will be able to steer her to the RIGHT material.

THANKS!!!
