Hello all, such a shame the original postings were all lost. But never mind !!!! They are some mindless people out there. Anyway enough- - - this is my problem--- My quilting group are running a fund-raising event to raise cash for disabled children to have horse-riding sessions...Which is great !!! OK now all the other ladies are busy making stuff such as oven gloves, purses etc and I was wondering what I could make. I would like to make something a bit more unusual and would grab potential customers attention and hopefully make them dig into their purses !!!!! Any ideas ???? I have lots of oddments of quilting fabric and batting so thats fine. Any links to web-sites would be great as I can print out instructions for my friends or just any simple ideas would be brilliant.. Forget to say - the sale will be held in early December so Christmas stuff would be ideal as well as everyday items. Hope you can all help !!!! Thanks and take care !!! Andrea |

Depends on what you think might sell well. Very small purses are in, you could make some up in trendy fabrics. Gift items always sell well too. You could embroider a simple design on almost anything. MaryW

What about fleece mittens, hats, scarves and sox. Boxer shorts with all the latest characters or what about shrugs. They are real popular with cooler weather coming on. MaryW

Here is a nice site to look at. I really like the table runner they have. http://www.keepsakequilting.com/KQShopping/partsview.asp?action=lookup&partno=6004&subject=U11&catpos=11 Just might be something you could make. There are projects here as well. Mary just finished a lamp shade project. Maybe you can find a old lamp and fix it up and make a new shade. |

Can you involve the kids? Number one thing I have learned about fundraising is that parents and grandparents will buy anything that there kids have been involved in making. Maybe you can get some of the childrens artwork and make quilts or wallhangings. Sher My website
