I'm so excited, I just had to share - we got SNOW today!!!!! Not down here in town (elev 6180'), but on Mount Sopris (elev ~13,000'), our local landscape's dominating feature. There was a light dusting waaay up top this morning, but this afternoon brought snow to almost the top third of the mountain. Plus, DH was in Marble (elev 7800') today and says about 4 to 8" fell on the surrounding mountains! ~squeal of delight~ Plus, upvalley (Aspen), most of the brush has already changed colors, and now the aspen trees are quickly turning gold! LOL...Can you tell I'm a winter person?? |

We were in Colorado around our 20th anniversary and really enjoyed the Aspens around Cripple Creek (that was when Cripple Creek was just a tourist area, not a gambling hot bed.) We stayed near Gramby and when we went up into the mountains it started to snow. It snowed so hard that they closed the roads behind us. It was really beautiful. The next day we went shopping in Estes Park where the weather was sunny and warm and the snow was blowing off the mountains. It was really neat! Enjoy your snowfall!

How about sending us here in Florida some snowballs at least. It's hot here plus maybe some snow would stop all these hurricanes we're having this year. I'll trade you some sand for some. Deal ? Theresa |

Sewhappie hurricanes in Florida are the norm. Some hit some don't. It's kind of a Russian roulette thing down there as to whether a hurricane will make landfall on the east or west coast. This year just happens to be the year that is spawning those that want to seek the land mass known as Florida. Patsy Patsy

I may be wrong Mary, but I'm sure you have only just got rid of your snow?..Summer seems to be very short in Halifax. Here in jolly England it's in the 30's still! good cricketing weather, except it is dark at 8 'o clock.
love and kisses, Jan

I'm with Dorothy, snow sucks. It's all cold and stuff. But, if you get too cold you can come down here to Texas, where it's still in the 90s. (much to my husband's dismay). Snow is only pretty sitting inside and looking at it from next to a nice big fire. Me no like cold weather. Ticia |

We're not ready for snow here, either. We've barely had a summer; it's been cool and wet. Our first 90-degree day of the "summer" occurred on September 2. But, perhaps, winter will bring back the sunshine. |

Raine, I remember our first snow in Grand Forks. We arrived in July and loved the weather, until the first day of school that is. We had 6 inches that day. That was about 16 years ago now. I do miss the springs, summers and falls there still but not winters. Way too cold for me!

bring it on, i'm ready for a change of the seasons, i'm definatly ready for fall, crisp air, walks over crunching leaves, i can't wait!!! then the snow fall, just a beautiful sight, i absolutly love the seasons changing, i used to really love summer but, the older i get i love the cooler weather a little more. i've heard that the farmers almanac is calling for a pretty bad winter here!!! yeahhhh! snow ball fights, sled riding, hot chocolate, family, sitting around the fire... a pot of hot soup cooking on the stove... i could go on and on... we haven't had a good winter for years and years, and i for one am looking foward to being snowed in for a couple days or weeks at a time...

I hate the snow and ice and I don't like freezing to death and I don't like wearing heavy clothes and shoes, especially shoes!!! It's still in the 80s here in and I wish it would stay that way. Patsy Patsy
