This afternoon I cut out, sewed, pressed and finished a lovely pair of tailored pants from Kwik Sew. Problem is, I did them in 5/8" seam allowances. Not thinking I just went on my merry way. As I stood there admiring the wonderful job I did I looked down at the pattern pieces and remembered Kwik Sew is only 1/4" seam allowances.

Well Mary, It seems you have two choices..... take 3/8ths off you all around or open up the pants and take 1/4" inch seams! Lise

I do have several Kwik Sew patterns that do use the 5/8 seam so you really do have to read carefully. Do like Kwik Sew though. Easy sewing. Which pattern did you use?

Aw, geeeze Mary! That is SO the kind of thing I would do, especially when I'm tired! But hey, it could have been the other way around, and then there'd be no remedy. This afternoon I have a zipper to remove from a pillow I just almost-made; put it in backwards, late at night, DUH! Shall we rip? |
