Ok, with my new machine, Brother VX760, I was able to disengage the clutch to wind the bobbin accidentally while trying to perform another task on the machine. However, now that I need to wind more bobbin thread I cannot repeat this move again! I have looked at another manual for another sewing machine and I understand what I am supposed to be trying to do, but I have just had zero luck. Can someone offer me advice on this simple task?! ha, thanks.

From dealing with several different types of machines over the years, some very old and of late a new one, I have learned a thing or two, well maybe a thing. The older models one had to disengage by turning the inside dial towards you (the one that makes the needle go up and down). The newer ones are much more simple. My machine has an extra spoole on the top of the machine that when pushed to the right, it disengages the needle action. Try either one since I am not sure what the model is you have. Please check with the manual and if you don't have one, get one! Sometimes you can go online and check with the manufacturer's website and they have manuals for sale and/or local sewing machine dealers have them on hand or know where to get one. Good Luck!
