Well it started here around 1:30AM today with thunder, lightning and non-stop rain, but no winds from Frances.
The creek near my house is growing by the hour. BUT after seeing what the folks down south have had to put up with, I won't complain :nervous: .

I hope for everyone sake that Ivan stays away.

Are things drying out done there yet? I am keeping you on my prayers.

We're on flood watch too. But since they built a couple holding ponds on the hills the village doesn't flood like it used too.
But my roof is leaking!

We got alot of rain yesterday and some wind. There's leaves and small tree limbs scattered everywhere, but that's about it. We decided we should close the pool and cover it last Sunday. I'm glad we did.

I hope Ivan will fizzle out. :nervous:

NC mountains got a lot more rain than we did. 14 & 1/2 inches in some places.. We got about 5 inches over 2 days time here on my side of Charlotte.. Had a few tornadoes around in the area, but none close to me.. I am glad to see the last of Frances today..

Hi,

I am in East Liverpool Ohio, and all around us got hit pretty good. We live on a hill far enough up that we are fine.
Trees have loosened and fell of the hillsides onto Route 7, one of the major highways here. Lots of schools are closed in area because of flooding, but ours is in session today. Lots of standing water everywhere and our storm drains can't handle much more input.

Hope everyone else is safe and well.

Hi Rita!!!

We don't live very far from each other , I'm just outside of Akron . I did see on the local news this noon that three or four counties in that area were hit pretty hard, roads are washed out up by Youngstown.
My DD's fiance is from Gnaddenhutten, Ohio and had to go down to New Philidelphia yesterday and told us that parts of that area were completely covered in water.
We just got steady rain all day yesterday, and then the winds stared last night and are still around today.
It doesn't look god again for the folks down South though, Ivan looks to be a "Bad Boy".
Do you ever get over this way? We have a fabric store here in town that you should check out sometime.

Hiya Sewhappie,

You are probably about an hour to an hour away from us. We are right on the Ohio/West Virginia/Pennsylvania border. If I do make it over that way, will let you know and you can show me the great store. I haven't been to Akron in about 4 years, but I might have to make a trip there. :bg: If you are ever down this way, let me know and we will meet somewhere. We are right across the River from Mountaineer Gaming Resort.

Hopefully we can meet sometime in the future, but right now too many roads are out between us. lol

It has been a few years since i have been to Hancocks. I really need to get out more lol :bg: We have a Jo Anns here and our Wal-mart has an excellent sewing/crafting dept. They have actually kept the quality up at Walmart here to try and compete with Jo Ann's. Matter of fact, i can usually find what i need at Wal-marts more than at Jo Ann's. But they are re-doing the craft dept at Wal-mart, so we will see if they change the quality also.

Congrats on winning at Mountaineer!! lol

My Uncle talked my DH and me into going to the racetrack there a few years ago. Lets just say, I now know why I am not a professional gambler. :bg:
