I gleaned this from another list. I have met Kathleen a couple of times and she is a very nice lady. I thought maybe some of you in the following areas may just be interested. Petite Plus Patterns will be at each of the following Original Sewing & Craft EXPOs: Chantilly VA Sept 30 - Oct 2/04. Chicago IL Oct 7 - 9 Overland Park KS Oct 14 - 16 Minneapolis MN Nov 11 - 13 Ottawa, Ontario Inspirations Show Oct 29 - 30/04 We are looking for friendly booth staff who can handle cash and credit card transactions under the pressures of sewing show crowds. In addition to serving customers, help is also needed to set up the booth and to break down. No heavy lifting is required. This is a flexible position that can be worked around your need to take classes and see the rest of the show. The pay is $9 - $10 per hour based on experience - or if you prefer, exchange in patterns at a 20% discount. Petite Plus Patterns is also presenting a fashion show on each of the three days at each of the Fall Original Sewing & Craft EXPOs: We need: Ordinary women, any age. Must be short and full-figured. (Under 5' 4", Bust/Hip measurements between 40 - 52 inches) No experience required. Be prepared to look good and have fun! For each show the model appears in, she will receive a Petite Plus Pattern of her choice and a pass to enter the expo that day. Models must be able to attend a fitting so that wardrobe can be chosen for them. The fittings take place on set up day, Wednesday prior to the EXPO opening. This is a great opportunity to spend some time with the designer Kathleen Cheetham, get some new ideas and try on a lot of fabulous clothes designed for petite plus women. What an opportunity ! Wish I lived close enough to do that.. I could even model for those !.. I love her work anyway... I've got a book she wrote.. It's a great reference book..(and patterns, too)

Thanks Mary, I sent an email to Kathleen tonight. I live just outside Ottawa, and have just recently taken up sewing again. (cross stitch sort of took over my life this past 15 years!!) Anyway, I am only little...and no longer in charge of my stomach muscles it would appear..so am having problems getting patterns to fit. Never thought of Petite Plus....so double thanks for pointing me in that direction. I will let you know if I hear back from her...and what happens. Cheers Anne Ontario, Canada |
