I just finished talking with my sister who has a friend that lives in Fla. She said that the friend and her husband had to leave their home along with the rest of the neighborhood because of Frances.
Well the friends house is up to code for hurricanes because of their loss from Andrew. When they had the house re-built they also had a stonewall fence with driveway gate installed. Well the neighbors on either side of them, who had lost their homes during Andrew and rebuilt did not have the fences or gates.
After everyone had evacuated for France, SOMEONE came in with trucks and cleaned out the neighbors house, lock-stock-and barrel!!!!!! Totally cleaned out the houses!!!!!! Frig, Stove, washer, dryer, clothes, furniture, TV, computers, you name it they took it!!!!! The only damge that the houses had during the storms was junk in the yards and pools, no damage to the houses.
The police told my sisters friend that they where very lucky that when the power went out that it kept the gate from opening, because they most likely would have been hit too!!!
This is just the last straw.....

Y'know, after the '06 San Francisco earthquake General Funston declared martial law and ordered looters shot. I can't for the life of me understand why that isn't still the case. Flame me if you will, but that's my opinion and I ain't changing it.

Acutally the reason the looters get in, is because the cops/sheriff's don't let the people get back to their posessions. They claim it's due to hazards, but you notice that where hazards are, is where the looters always are. Sometimes they get there on the water, because the cops/sheriff's/coast guard can't patrol ALL the water too....I agree looters should be shot on sight. Kneecap'em...that way they don't die, but they can't run and may never have the oportunity to walk right again...

Hi ALL, I agree with you both about the looters. Hope ours doesn't get hit. We're leaving out in the morning early. We have the strong hurricane shutters on & nothing out side. A real solid door with 2 locks but who knows. This is a bad one & we'll get a lot from this one. It's going to be manatory to leave our area. We are too close to the gulf & a huge lake in the back. I don't want to leave all we've worked for through the years but better that than our lives. :bang: :bang: I'll let ya'll know when we come back & what went on here. That is if we have the computer & a home. if you don't mind send up a prayer or 2 for everyone in this Ivan's path. Bet we'll need it. Everyone take care. Theresa :nervous: :nervous:

I have a brother, sister-in-law and a niece in West Palm Beach. They are reporting that there is nothing in the stores due to the fact that the power has been out for so long and the stores all lost their frozen foods and everything that was edible and would not spoil was pretty much purchased before Frances hit. So, if Ivan makes landfall in Florida it is really going to be a trial for people to even eat. I really feel for and worry about people with small children and babies. DH and I pray every day for the people in Florida. The good news is that all my family members in Florida have been able to purchase generators and the ones father north in Florida that wasn't hit by Charlie or Frances, except for the rain, are helping out the ones father south that are having trouble getting food, water and gasoline.

I say if you steal and loot you should make the punishment fit the crime. Cut off their hands so they can't steal again. My Dad use to say that they didn't have stealing or rape in Africa because that's the way they handled it. Can you imagine what they would do a rapest!!!!! No more rape!!!!! Yeahhh

On Ivan.......... I don't wish him on anyone but looks like the Fl, Al, MS, and LA coast will be in for a rough couple of days or more if it comes in as strong as it now. I'm :bolt: out of here.
