Does anyone know where I can find a simple, elegant flowergirl pattern (for a 2 year old child)? I would really appreciate the help.

How about some of the Daisy Kingdom patterns - I love all of her designs and the dresses turn out really pretty. |

This is another that I thought was really nice. I love kids' clothes! I keep watching the flower girl patterns because I think that my daughter is going to get married in the next year and she has chosen her bridal pattern...I keep buying patterns that I think would go with it for the two flower girls. http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/mccallspatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.400002536=x&TI=40015&pageNum=11&M=&UK=32952856 pam

JJJGilbert, that is a beautiful dress... too bad its smallest size is 4, since I need a 2... same with your dresses, paroper... I have to fit a 2-year old who is short for her age. The wisdom of having a 2-year old as a flowergirl is another matter entirely! Mary, I can't see your links, because they rely on cookies from your computer... so I can't see it unless I go from your computer. What is the pattern brand and name of those dresses? see the mundane life of a housewife.

I made a flowergirl dress for my dd for year before last when she was 18 months. BUt I still have all the numbers for the ones we were looking at. Mccalls #2536 #8675 #3949 #4285 #4286 #4344 #4358 Butterick #6957 #6419 #3704 #3351 #4117 the link to see these is www.mccall.com (which is the main page to see the butterick and mccalls and vogue patterns). the pattern we went for was the McCalls #3050, but it has been discontinued. christine Christine

Have you checked out the "Sew Beautiful" mags by Martha Pullen? She has lots of stuff that could be a fab flower girl dress and quite often you can get the pattern with the magazine and she almost always goes to size 2. I have her heirloom sewing book for kids it's great (and REALLY expensive but I couldn't resist) but the magazine is about the cost of a pattern anyway. Jeanette

Kelly, I went through the flowergirl dresses on the bridal pages with my daughter, found one we liked, found a pattern that was similar and made it up in the colors and fabric she wanted, and similar to her style of dress. So many of the little dresses in the patterns can be fancied up into flowergirl style dresses. My granddaughter was 2 when she did the flowergirl thing. We had mom walk with her down the aisle along with my 3yr old grandson who was a ringbearer. It went perfectly fine, though the ring bearer decided he wanted to keep the pillow which was ok, as I had thought of that and made sure the best man had the real rings in his coat pocket!! Laura

For a two-yr-old, it's a little tricky to find a good one, isn't it? Do you have a casual dress pattern that you like? I think you could froo-froo it up a bit by fabric choice and embellishments. I'd go for a simply A-line, add a sheer over-layer to the skirt, a little stin ribbon around an empire waitline, and Poof! Instant toddling flowergirl.
