There was a link posted for www.wazoodle.com that carries a range of patterns for scrubs. The company is based in Ontario but delivers world-wide. Lots of choice of patterns. Hope this helps, take care. NanaBear |

Thank you, NanaBear! Darn, I just now noticed your post, and I apologize for the delay in responding; that was really thoughtful and I sure appreciate it. That site has some cute stuff, and I'll probably order enough to do a few in 'real scrubs' fabric, and then some more with 100% cotton to see what goes over best at the clinic. Thanks again! |

Hi there, I make scrub tops too. if your going to use a 100% cotton you will have to wash the fabric first as it really shrinks alot. I like to use a cotton blend. It also helps with not having to iron them. Just pull out of dryer and hang, no wrinkles. Bonnie preserve memories today for all of the tomorrows

Hi Bonnie, Thanks for the heads-ups on that one, but I'm the pre-wash queen! I pre-wash everything from quilt fabric to 'dry-clean only' stuff. With the latter, I start with a small piece to see if it holds up and 90% of the time it does. I'll probably use blends for a few of these, but the prints available on poly-cotton are pretty darned boring. Since this is for a private clinic (Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, if anybody's interested), I want to do some really wild and crazy colors/prints for some, and some really pretty ones for others. What are your favorite scrubs patterns? I'm using See&Sew #3823 because I like that the front neckband is a separate piece so I can use a contrasting color. Also Butterick #5560 so I can offer a button-front option, and I like the version with the shaped front hemline. I think that will be flattering for some of our 'fluffier' techs. (BTW, both patterns purchased through this site.) I'm not planning to make any money on these; I'll give some away, and let the rest go for costs. It's just a fun project for a bunch of incredibly dedicated and hard-working folks. |

My favorite scrub pattern is Butterick 4946. It has a separate neckpiece. I've made it so often that I can make one in about an hour after I've cut it out. That includes pockets and finishing all the seams. Butterick 5710 has a vest that some nurses like because it adds pockets when they wear T's. I've made a lot of scrub tops from basic pull over tops and adding pockets and side vents. One was a unisex pj top. You don't have to stick to just scrub patterns.
