Has anyone ever seen or used one of these? If so, what is your opinion on it? Do you know how much thread is on the cartridiges that you have to purchase? The price is right for me. I don't mind doing applique.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago from HSN.. I just happened to hit that channel by mistake and it said sewing , so I stopped to see.. I got the station, 1 cd w/ instructions 15 thread cartridges 10 patches and wonder under for backing and the basic designs.. No extra disney with mine.. Your offer has much more software than mine.. I haven't used it yet.. I have been reading the instructions over thoroughly.. I like to understand all of it before I start.. I also ordered extra thread and patches when I ordered the station.. My prices were $59.00 for basic, and $21.95 for additional packet.. I will look and let you know how much thread is on each cartridge.. I figure at my age, I don't need to invest in an embroidery sewing machine.. (nobody to leave it to who sews.) LOL.. but I wanted to have a little something I could do monograms etc with, so I thought this would hit the spot.. I saved your source , so I might order the extra software .. :bg:

Liz,
Sorry it took me so long to get the answer to your question, but I had to search the Brother website and I had to do it twice before I found the info.. I knew I had read it on there, but the first time I looked, I couldn't find it.. Each thread cartridge has 1000 feet or 300 meters. :bg: :bg:

Hi Libby,

Wow, that is a lot of thread. I figured it would be less than that, so you would have to keep buying. I'm going to go ahead and order mine today. I was waiting for opinions as I posted it here and on another board. So far, haven't heard anything bad. I'm like you, I don't need an embroidery machine at this time. I found a lady in town who teaches free hand embroidery. My old reliable White Mechanical Sewing machine can do that, so I'm thinking of maybe I will take a class from her.

Thanks again for the information.

I have the Brother applique station, with threads and patches. I am looking to sell mine. I have extra threads and patches. The only reason I am selling is because I got the Brother embroidery machine. E= Mail me at <email address removed for privacy>
Here's a link to the sale add.

Carolyn,

But AOL is seems to be having problems. It keeps sending them back to me.
I was going to give you my phone number. I will email a private message to you here on this board.

Hi Monica, I can't help you with your question as I don't have this machine but I wanted to welcome you to SWN. Someone will be along with pics of their creations, I'm sure.

Happy Holidays!

Welcome Monica,

I own one of these applique machines. I use it for different things. I have used it to make labels for a quilt. http://www.yesalbum.com/v001/SailorLiz/Quilts/label.jpg

I used it this past Holiday season to make lettering for names to put on Xmas socks. I also have used it for some of my quilt blocks and door banners. I find it very useful.

Thanks Liz for sharing your beautiful work with me. How did you attach the applique to your project? It sounds like you are really enjoying your machine. I can't wait to enjoy mines, it should be here this week.

You iron them on. I also sewed around them to insure they would stay on.

I hope you get yours soon.
