I heard the same thing this morning. I have never heard of that happening. Jeane is still floating around out there somewhere too. This is a very busy Hurricane season. I wonder if we will get through the whole alphabet this year.

Ivan went up the east coast (after it went berserk here), dumping rain and wind on everyone, came BACK down the east coast (in the Atlantic). Went down to the tip of FL, as rain..then it went BACK into the gulf where it's re-formed as a tropical storm and is headed to LA and TX....but luckily it's lost most of it's winds and distruction...it's one heck of a storm....it's weird, but isn't it wonderful that we were warned and can keep track of it....

He did enough damage here in Ohio!!!!!!! Marietta, Ohio, on the Ohio River, was hit extremely hard by floods last Friday night/ Saturday Morning!!! The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for them on Thursday into Friday, THEN canceled it!!!! Now mind you, this part of Ohio is VERY hilly. Saturday morning the entire downtown area was underwater!!!!!! They were showing pictures of the football stadium that was totally underwater. You could not see any of the seats, only the pressbox!!!!!!! The water is just now starting to go down. Did you see the picture of the streets in Florida packed almost 4 ft deep with beach sand? Unbeliev able. |

Yes, it is pretty bad here on the Ohio River. Our football field is underwater and our high school team will not be able to use it the rest of the season because of the waste water that ended up in the water. We have to wait for it to drain, then the new layer of mud and silt will have to be removed until they can get to the dirt that is not contaminated by all the waste water. A neighboring town who's field was not affected has agreed to let our team use their field for home games. The lower end of town was underwater, but I live far enough up a hill (mountain) that we weren't hurt to badly. We just had to be careful when we drove to stay out of affected areas. A 1/2 drive ended up taking almost 3 hours to get there. Other towns within 15 minutes of us were completely underwater. Water is receding now and clean up is taking place, but it will be weeks to months before everything is "normal". Most areas are on boil order for water, some say boil but still don't drink or cook with it even after its boiled. We still have alot of schools closed in the area. Ours were not affected. As I said we were very lucky. There is still a search for 2 missing people that were lost in flood waters. Please keep in prayers. They found their vehicles when water receded, but no sign of bodies yet. Just an update from East Liverpool, Ohio on the Ohio River. Sewing Forever
